 Great Camera January 10, 2009
This is a great little camera. I have always been a Canon fan ever since someone told me that they have the best image processing chips and I haven't found a reason to complain. These cameras are a bit delicate though and dropping one can be catastrophic. Not too many advanced features/manual overrides in this one, but the auto shots are really good. The optical viewfinder is very handy in bright sunlight where the LCD can be a bit washed out. Optical image stabilization is a great help. You can zoom while taking videos which was not possible with my earlier S50 though that one had a lot of manual override features. Highly recommend this camera for those looking for a quick point shoot which can take great shots.
 Excellent Product January 9, 2009
I bought this for my wife one month ago, and it's really nice. She like it. Everything works well, no surprise. The quality of photo is good for its price, and the battery is strong. I would like to recommend this to my friend.br /But one little problem I got is that, once the video on the disk exceeds 100M, I got problem transmitting it to my computer. Now I still have not figured out what's going on.
Great camera for taking day-to-day photos, not so great for videos January 9, 2009
I was looking for a camera that would take good photos without flash in dim-light, and has a large viewscreen, and this camera definitely satisfied both of those requirements. It takes excellent photos, it has a really fast start-up, and there is no delay between the time you press the button to when it takes a photo (unlike some other digital cameras I've had before). The only bad thing is that when you are taking a video and you zoom in, the image gets all pixelated and there is major loss of details. So if you take a lot of videos with your digital camera and that is a major requirement for you, I wouldn't recommend this camera. But other than that I do like this camera, it has lots of the basic features that you will need to tweak your photos, it has a lot of ISO options when you put the camera in "Manual", and I love the slideshow feature that scrolls thru both photos and videos!
