The Nikon BL-3 battery chamber cover is required when the EN-EL4 rechargeable battery is paired with the MB-40 battery pack or MB-D10 multi-power battery pack. The cover--which clips onto the battery--replaces the standard tray that comes supplied with the battery pack. The BL-3 comes with a neoprene storage pouch.

Must Have adapter for the MB-D10 November 11, 2008
Works great in combination with the MB-D10 to use the same batteries as the D2 / D3 series cameras. This is the only way to get the maximum per second shutter rate out of your D700 or D300.br /br /Con: Should have been included in the MB-D10 box

Deciding to go with the EN-EL4 battery for in the MB-D10 battery case on my Nikon D300 this little handler plus the charger made the choice pretty tough on my budget. I am happy with the quality of the chamber cover (really it's the electrical connection between the battery and the camera). br /br /Connecting the battery to the cover isn't intuitive but if you keep the instructions it's not too bad. Practise a few times to teach your brain the process because in low light it can be a challenge. It's just a slide switch but it feels like you are putting it on the wrong end of the battery.br /br /As with the other chamber covers for the MB-D10 it looks nice and works well.br /
