Not really worth the moneyOctober 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having the ability to shoot a little faster is nice in sports photography but really not needed in most cases. If you want to get the most out of your D700/300 get it which is the main reason why I did. The vertical grip is good but I can do the vertical shots without it just as good. The extra battery life is nice when I went on a week long trip. I took about 1000 pictures so I could of gotten by if I just brought my charger along or a extra battery pack. For the contents I decided to just go with the Nimh double AA batteries. I had some already with the SB-600 speedlight and knew how well they worked.

What else is there to say... I put NiMH Batteries in this puppy, and I can now burn through a 4GB Card in no time!! :) The construction is very professionally designed.. Others have talked about the vertical button being touchy... I didn't see that with mine. My D300 now also feels more secure in my hands.
Solid productSeptember 28, 2008 Pros: - Solid build - Extra battery time - 8fps with AAs or EN-EL4a/e - Works with AA batteries - Works as advertised
Cons - Vertical shutter is not the same sensitivity as the one on the D300 - No AF lock button - Release lever is plastic (potential to break)
------------------------- Overall it is solid and works quite well. Only thing I wish It had was is a AF lock hold button. I use it a lot when shooting, but I can't reach it using the vertical position.

Provides the extra juice to power through a long day's shoot without having to change batteries. Adds considerable weight.
Problem With Your MB-D10?September 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased a Nikon MB-D10 from Amazon about two months ago. Worked great for two weeks - then it caused the LCD display and the auto focus on my D300 to stop working. Apparently there was a short circuit in the grip. Nikon was great - fixed it in 24 hours. Three weeks later, same problem. Back to Nikon service it went.
Today's UPS brings me a brand new unit from Nikon, no questions asked.
I love Nikon products and realize that nothing is perfect - but Nikon service is close.
