forget the tripod November 22, 2008
The Bower SFD14C ring flash appears identical to the Opteka RL-500,br /which has been problematic for some Amazon reviewers.br /My Bower ring flash works fine, so far (as of this second day).br /I wish it allowed for a lens cap while it is installed;br /instead for protection I will insert a UV filterbr /between the ring flash and lens.br /br /The battery charger is better than expected;br /it handles AAA (as well as AA) without adapters and, unlike others, appears to sense each cell separately.br /With other chargers which charge 2 cells in series,br /one cell may invert or otherwise fail.br /I have not yet tried the charger with NiCd,br /which it also claims to support.br /br /The "Accessory Kit" is a Precision DJC-007 cleaning kit.br /It appears similar to Amazon B000W79C82, except without the DigiKlearbr /or B001LEQA12 without the LensPEN. The cleaning fluid is labeled:br /"DISTILLED WATER AND NON_TOXIC GLASS CLEANER".br /br /The tripod is a Digital Concepts TR60N,br /for which see Amazon B000093UDQ.br /br /For $15-20 more than a Bower SFD14C without batteries, I am satisfied.
