Great for long road trips March 8, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my iPod (duh) for a cross-country move. It did a great job in those "less than populated" areas, but once I got to bigger cities, it was harder to find frequencies and the sound quality when from clear to pure fuzz. br /br /Since getting back into Seattle I haven't used it once.
Great companion!!! November 10, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this device for almost a year and am very pleased. Easy to use with my 40g Ipod Photo. I have 2 vehicles and take it everywhere. Wide range of radio frequencies to choose. The bottom turns into a stand which makes recharging convenient. I would advise ordering a firewire "on each end" cable for charging the unit available on ebay for around $8.00. This allows the pod to stay in the case. My favorite aspect of this device is portability. You can play your pod on your home stereo, car, or even on a jambox outside on the patio!
Best Thing Since Sliced Bread! October 29, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great device and certainly a lot cheaper than the automotive adapter kits at $300! In crowded radio markets (LA, SF) you should find frequencies that don't have other stations to close to minimize interference. Highly recommended.
Best FM Transmitter Ever September 7, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried iTrip and promptly returned it. The device was cumbersome and it sounded crappy. That was over a year ago. Then recently about two months ago, I decided to reinvestigate FM transmitters for my pod. I stumbled upon a really thin review for PodFreq and purchased it at a local store for $100. I shunned the price, but I liked the all-in-one design without the iTrip playlist fiasco. In addition, I was going on a long trip and wanted an FM tranmitter ASAP.br /br /After I tried it, I fell in love with it. I thought I would hate it and end up returning it but it worked easily, and very well. I love the fact that I don't have to fuss with the volume of the pod if a song is too soft or loud since it's handled through the radio. I love the easy digital tuner on the bottom (I hated with a passion iTrip's frequency playlist). I love the fact that it puts out a stronger and clearer signal than the other FM transmitters. And, the firewire ports help too!br /br /The device is easy to use, much clearer than iTrip and works really well. I find myself using my pod even more with PodFreq. The attenea on the back is kinda weird, but the sound it transmits is well worth it. I've never raved about products I buy by posting comments, but I'm thrilled with it. At $100 it was a lot, but in my opinion well worth it. I now don't have to fuss, try, and return other FM transmitters because of some lousy reason or another. I saved a lot of time, money, and energy by purchasing the PodFreq. I highly recommend it.br /br /Funny how stores such as the Apple Store, Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc. don't carry this item.br /br /Oh, since the device has a firewire port, you can sync your pod using a 6-6 pin fireware cable without taking your pod out of PodFreq.
Much better than others August 11, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The sound quality with Podfreq is much better than some of the competition. We had tried a Belkin tunecast II and was dissapointed. We can actually hear good highs and lows in the music vs "phone quality" audio. I'd buy another if needed.br /br /My only complaint is there are few stations in a large city, so getting a channel that works well is time consuming. But you will have this with any FM transmitter device.
