Great quality video for the web December 29, 2008 The Flip Mino takes video that's great for web quality display. I've used it in several contexts as a photojournalist--the camera is the perfect size for my camera bag and it has helped me capture a bunch of great, spontaneous interviews that have made it onto my paper's web site and led in the next day's paper. It's small enough that I can take it wherever I go. For a sense of what the quality is like, check out http://whattheflip.mtv.com/people/SamGuzik/videos/15.
Great for those who are looking for easy December 28, 2008 This little camcorder is so easy to use and the picture are really good. It downloads the videos quickly and its so easy to send the video to friends or family. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to get a degree to use a camcorder. Just point and start recording.
Wow, we're impressed December 28, 2008 We are living abroad for several years and thought friends and family would enjoy seeing life in Japan and this is the perfect way to do it. It's so easy to put in our pocket and take it with us everywhere. I don't stand out recording every day life in Japan with the Mino, most people just think it's a small camera or even a cell phone. The only thing I don't like so far is that it doesn't focus very well when I zoom in onto my kids. It's even fallen out of my pocket into a puddle of water and still works fine! I'm shocked. I'm having fun putting videos together and making movies for my blog. The flip mino is perfect for this family.
Flip Mino - Easy to use, great videos! December 28, 2008 I've used this "video camera" (smaller than a standard digital camera) for almost a month now. The camera is easy to use I have gotten some great videos even in dim lighting. After loading the videos onto my PC the videos looked even better. I hesitated when I was looking to purchase this camera due to pro con reviews. But now after using this camera I am sorry I waited so long!
It was good... until it wasn't December 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Flip was great for a few months. Though the video is shaky (due to the small size and the slightest move causes greater shake during playback) it's crisp and clear and very easy to use.br /Here is where the wheels came off the bus:br /The software was upgraded (I did this automatically when prompted) and it now takes nearly 1 hour to download and save files to my computer. This used to take 5 minutes.br /Also, the software is quirky in that you access, save, change names, edit etc from the flip software. I have typically found that manually going in and creating, changing folder and file names much easier with things like photos-- the problem is that if you change ANYTHING manually, like a video description, the software no longer recognizes it.br /Fine. I got that the second day. BUT now with this software upgrade, it decided to only recognize 1 out of 8 folders I had created.br /Granted, I can still access and play the videos with other programs like Windows Media Player, but that's not the way things should work.br /br /So, I am going to give this neat little gizmo away to a friend. The costs outweigh the benefits. Sad, because it's a snazzy little piece of equipment. Looks good, weighs very little and works rather well. I did have a few glitches on pressing the record though... which caused some aggro.
